Being from data and analytics backgrounds, we started looking around for dashboards that would keep us informed of the world’s volumes, movement and changes in the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). We found some great dashboards that were not only useful, but also inspired us to create our own with a few additions and our own DIS design touches.
We began searching the available data-sources and found two really useful examples that would work for this in-house project:
• https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ – High level Data and demographics
• https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/ – Day on day confirmed/deaths
Using Power BI as our tool of choice, we spent some time getting the data where we wanted it, built our own metrics and used some cool custom visualisations.
